KITTY BENFORD   Theatre Director &  Workshop Facilitator

I am a Freelance Theatre Director, Maker and Workshop Facilitator. I trained at the University of Bedfordshire, studying an undergraduate degree in Theatre and Professional Practice and went on to complete my Masters in Performing Arts: Creative Practice and Leadership. Whilst studying my Masters my research specialised in the engagement of young people in performance. 

 

I have a passion for supporting and engaging young people through the activity of youth theatre and providing excellent opportunities for young artists to develop their craft. This stems from the impact that my local youth theatre had on me when I was a teenager. 

 

Previous Roles include Youth Theatre Director for The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough, Youth Theatre Director, Shiny Arts, Lead Practitioner, Royal and Derngate, Northampton. I am currently in post as Projects Associate for Warts and All Theatre. Our work takes us across the midlands and we believe everyone can be an artist, whether they are trained or not.
